The Roof-Top Romance of a Purring Kitten

Kitten Who Lived on a Roof, Finds Love and Can't Stop Purring

An adorable 4-week-old kitten named Bennett, along with his two siblings, were discovered residing on a rooftop in a neighborhood in Los Angeles. The homeowner was not keen on having them around, prompting the kittens to scurry over to a nearby tree in the neighbor’s yard for safety.

Jacqueline DeAmor shared a heartwarming story about a neighbor who saved kittens stuck in a tree but missed one, Bennett, who was later found on her car. According to Jacqueline, Bennett, a ginger boy, appeared to have fallen from the tree and was in a weak and congested state. Despite efforts to feed the kittens, Bennett refused to eat and began to fade.

The concerned neighbor contacted Maryann, a local animal rescuer, who then reached out to Jacqueline, co-founder of Friends for Life RescueNetwork, for help. Jacqueline, specializing in such cases, immediately agreed to assist. Describing Bennett’s condition as cold, weak, malnourished, and severely congested, Jacqueline noted his eyes struggling to open and his nose blocked with discharge.

Upon meeting the ginger boy, Jacqueline wasted no time in putting him on a healthy diet to help him regain his strength. Despite his initial disinterest in food, she used a syringe to ensure he was properly nourished. To combat a nasty upper respiratory infection, the kitten was also given oral antibiotics.
After nearly exhausting herself over two days of non-stop feeding and care, the kitten eventually showed signs of improvement. Jacqueline knew he was on the mend when his nose started to clear up and he eagerly devoured his meals, as she shared with Love Meow.

Jacqueline DeAmor shared an adorable update about Bennett, who was excited to play and act like a typical kitten as soon as he regained his strength to stand on all fours. According to DeAmor, Bennett would make cute little noises when hungry and even took interest in playing with a toy. His body temperature, which was alarmingly low at 97 degrees upon arrival, has now returned to a healthy 100.2 degrees. Watch the heartwarming video below for more!

Jacqueline DeAmor intends to go back to the area to locate the mother cat using the TNR method, while the compassionate neighbor is looking after the two remaining kittens.

Meanwhile, Little Bennett, who was discovered in a bad condition, has undergone a remarkable transformation and is doing much better now.

Yesterday, Jacqueline DeAmor shared a heartwarming update about Bennett, a kitten in her care. She happily exclaimed, “He has found his purr motor! Once I pick him up, he immediately starts purring and snuggles into my neck. He enjoys darting around his play area with his fluffy tail puffed out.” Bennett has turned into a delightful little purring machine and has also mastered the art of communication with Jacqueline through his soft meows. Jacqueline fondly recalls how he would squeak from his cozy heating pad whenever he felt hungry.

Only a week ago, the orange tabby was struggling to breathe and feeling down. Today, he’s a lively and inquisitive little fellow with a knack for adventure, unafraid to interact with larger cats. He eagerly calls for his bottle and happily purrs after feeding, falling asleep in his foster mother’s embrace.
