Heli fondly recalled how it never struck her as odd that her husband enjoyed cucumbers, as their previous dog had a similar affinity for the vegetable. To her, it was just a typical occurrence in their household.
“I never found it strange that Mauri liked cucumbers, especially since our past dog enjoyed them too. It seemed normal to me. It wasn’t until I started sharing videos of Mauri swiping cucumbers from my grocery bag that I realized his cucumber obsession made him unique.
Most of the time, we just relax at home like any other house cat. But in the summer, we enjoy exploring nearby parks and forests. We even take train trips to visit my family, who live a 4-hour ride away.
Mauri has become a bit of a local celebrity in Finland. He’s made appearances on national TV and in the news, and we’re sometimes invited to local cafes with him.”
