A mother cat was discovered on the pavement, sheltering her three tiny kittens from the chilly weather.
Kelly, also known as @kellyfosterkittens, shared the heartwarming story of a feline family that was abandoned and left to fend for themselves in the cold. Luckily, they were rescued just in time and brought to a local animal shelter in Greensboro, North Carolina.
When they arrived, the poor cats were in a sorry state – covered in fleas, dirt, and ear mites. The mother cat was especially worse-off, emaciated from trying to care for her kittens and protect them from the elements.
Kelly, a dedicated foster volunteer, opened her home to the family of four. They were given a quiet, cozy room filled with soft bedding and everything they needed to feel safe and comfortable. The mother cat showed her gratitude by purring non-stop, as if she knew she and her kittens were finally safe and cared for.

According to Kelly, the kitty is playing catch up after being rescued from the streets a few days ago, where she was covered in fleas, ear mites, and dirt. The kitty is currently receiving antibiotics, and Kelly is hopeful that she will start feeling better soon.

Kelly expressed her intention to have Georgia spayed to prevent her from going through the same hardships as her mother, such as experiencing a painful heat cycle, unwanted pregnancies, and being left on the street to care for kittens.
