Kevin, the Russian Blue cat, was discovered in a parking lot and taken to a veterinary clinic at only 4 weeks old. Unlike the other kittens, he had a severe condition that the veterinarians doubted he could survive.
“When Kevin first arrived at the clinic, his prognosis was very bleak,” his owner, Tailah, shared with Bored Panda. “The first night I brought him home and tried to feed him solid food, he would peck at it so hard that he would accidentally hit his head on the ground.”
Kevin has Hydrocephalus, a condition characterized by fluid build-up in the brain. “The biggest concern was that it might trigger seizures, but four years later, he has never experienced one! He is an indoor cat but enjoys spending time in his enclosed balcony with toys and a mini castle, as well as our side courtyard,” explained Tailah.
“I always had a feeling that he was a special kitten, but I couldn’t tell if it was just because I became so attached to him within seconds of meeting him and knew I couldn’t let him go!” Happy 4th birthday, Kevin!

At only 4 weeks old, he was discovered in a parking lot and taken to a veterinary clinic for care.
He was different from the rest of the kittens because he had a unique condition.
“According to Tailah, Kevin’s initial attitude upon arriving at the clinic was extremely negative,” as shared with Bored Panda.
“He would peck at his food with such force that he would end up bumping his head on the ground in the process.”
“I was concerned that his vision was deteriorating more than we had realized, but he kept getting better!”
Kevin has a medical condition known as Hydrocephalus, which is characterized by an accumulation of fluid in the brain.
The primary worry was that it might trigger a seizure in Kevin.
“Yet after 4 years have passed, he still hasn’t experienced it once.”
“He is a cat who prefers the comfort of the indoors.”
Even though he has a private balcony filled with his favorite toys resembling a miniature castle, he also enjoys exploring the courtyard on our side of the house.
“He really knows how to have fun and enjoy himself!”
“He prowls around the house at 2am like clockwork, just like any typical cat, and he’s incredibly loving and affectionate!”
I just had this hunch deep down that he was going to be a special little feline miracle.
“…however, I was unsure if my quick attachment to him within 5 seconds was the reason for my feelings.”
“…and I was well aware that I would never be able to say goodbye to him!”
Happy 4th anniversary of your birth, Kev!
