As I celebrate another year of life on my birthday today, I find myself grappling with conflicting emotions. While the occasion calls for joy and celebration, there’s a lingering sense of sadness and longing within me. Despite being aware of my imperfections, I had hoped for the warmth and blessings from those around me. Birthdays are moments for love, kindness, and well-wishes, yet the absence of blessings has left me feeling disheartened and overlooked.
However, amidst the disappointment, there’s a glimmer of self-reflection and acceptance. I recognize that perfection is an unattainable standard, and true happiness lies in embracing oneself, flaws and all. Today, as I blow out the candles on my cake, I choose to bless myself with self-love, resilience, and gratitude. Despite the absence of external validation, I am worthy of love and blessings, both from others and from within.
