Pam Pam’s unique eye colors are a result of heterochromia iridum, a condition that causes abnormalities in the iris. Individuals with heterochromia have one eye that is a different color than the other, or in some cases, different colors within the same eye (segmental heterochromia). This condition can be caused by a variety of factors such as inbreeding, genetic inheritance, or mutation.
Interestingly, some cat breeds like the Turkish Angora view heterochromia as a desirable trait that breeders work to maintain. Inherited heterochromia iridum is harmless and can be observed in both animals and humans.
