A feline discovered nestled among the foliage one night approached a compassionate individual who beckoned to her, altering her destiny for eternity.
Karen the feline was discovered by rescuers from Greenpoint Cats a couple of weeks ago after receiving a message about a cat hiding in the bushes at a local park. They quickly made their way to the location and found out that she had been there for a whole day. Greenpoint Cats mentioned that the cold and scared cat had made a cozy nest out of leaves to keep warm.
As soon as one of the rescuers called out to Karen, the tabby perked up and started meowing back, showing signs of relief and gratitude for being found and rescued.
Karen, an 11-year-old cat, was discovered nestled among the leaves in a park in Greenpoint. When the rescuer approached, Karen willingly got up and made her way over.
Gratefully accepting the help, the affectionate feline let the rescuer pick her up and transfer her into a carrier. She was brought to the veterinarian’s office for a check-up and was given the name “Karen” in honor of the park where she was found, McCarren Park.
She approached the rescuer seeking assistance

After the microchip was found, the owner was contacted, revealing that the cat had been left behind in the park.
Karen found solace in her foster home, where she was given plenty of food to help her regain strength after suffering from low blood sugar. In a warm and cozy room with a comfortable bed, she could finally relax. “Those two days in the cold must have been really scary.”
She felt a wave of joy as she snuggled up in safety and comfort, away from the cold outdoors. GreenpointCats shared the heartwarming update a couple of hours after she was taken in, just in time before the freezing rain started to pour. Karen was now in the cozy embrace of her foster family, snoozing peacefully in her plush bed, her tummy satisfied. As she lay there, she turned over onto her back and let out a loud purr of happiness while getting gentle scratches on her chin. The earlier sadness that lingered on her face faded away, replaced by a sense of pure contentment.

The adorable tabby, after facing harsh weather conditions and hunger, was overjoyed to finally find shelter indoors. Despite spending two days and nights struggling to survive in freezing temperatures by taking refuge in a pile of leaves, her spirit remained strong and her love unwavering.
After rescuing Karen, the dedicated volunteers at Greenpoint Cats have recently welcomed three more stray cats into their care from the local community.
Karen, the gentle tabby, has bounced back and is now busy exploring her new surroundings with a renewed sense of curiosity. She’s been happily playing, carrying her toys around the house, and enjoying the comfort of being an indoor cat once again.
Once Karen regained her strength, she happily delved into playful activities and companionship, rejuvenating her love for cuddles. She would spend her days alternating between playtime and snuggling with her foster mom, purring in pure contentment. As she awaited adoption, the rescue team remained hopeful that she would soon find a forever home with a family who would shower her with love and care. Finally, on New Year’s Eve, the rescue received the long-awaited news they had been anticipating with excitement.
Karen absolutely loved her foster family and made sure to give them plenty of affection by snuggling up to them. Their meeting was like a match made in heaven as she immediately charmed them with her lovable nature. It was as if she was telling them, “I pick you!” Not long after, the family reached out to the rescue organization, expressing their overwhelming joy over their new feline friend, the adorable tabby named Karen.
Karen found her perfect family and immediately captured their hearts. The new owner shared, “After meeting Karen, we couldn’t help but fall in love with her.” In the upcoming year, Karen will embark on a new adventure with her new family, complete with catnip toys, cozy cuddle spots, and plenty of love and pampering.
