Little Wanderers NYC is a dedicated group of volunteers in New York City who came to the rescue of a young cat and her three kittens that were found behind a deli in Jamaica, Queens by Jae, a concerned resident. These poor animals were living amongst the garbage outside the establishment, but thanks to Jae’s quick thinking, help was on the way.
Upon receiving the call for assistance, Little Wanderers NYC wasted no time in mobilizing a volunteer to head to the scene and provide aid to the feline family. In the meantime, arrangements were made for a foster home where the cats could have a safe place to stay while receiving the care they needed.

Little Wanderers NYC successfully rescued a family of four using a drop trap. Unlike most cats who try to escape, this hungry family was more interested in the food provided by the rescuers. Little Wanderers shared with Love Meow that they were able to eat to their hearts’ content. The organization mentioned that the family will never have to worry about hunger again.

The story of Little Wanderers NYC caught Sarah Lazar’s attention and she felt a strong urge to help. She had never fostered animals before but after seeing the picture of the kitties on the organization’s page, she knew she had to do something. “When I saw how they were living in such poor conditions with little food and nowhere to rest, I knew they needed a safe and warm home,” Sarah shared with Love Meow. Without hesitation, she reached out to Little Wanderers and within a few hours, the cat mom and her babies were in her care.
Under Sarah’s loving care, the feline family received the medical attention they required. They were underweight and needed to gain some healthy weight.

Sarah Lazar recounted how the hungry kitties eagerly devoured their food, showing no signs of stopping. It seemed as though they were uncertain about their next meal, prompting them to overindulge.
Following treatment for fleas and cat colds, each kitty received a much-needed bath. As they adjusted to indoor life, their unique personalities began to shine through.
With treats, toys, and playful interactions, the kitties began to exhibit typical kitten behavior, including wrestling with each other. Sarah expressed her joy in witnessing their transformation into mischievous little troublemakers, a sight that warms her heart.

Sarah Lazar had been fostering a cat named Penny for two nights when she noticed a shift in Penny’s behavior. It seemed like Penny had finally realized that they were in a safe place. Gradually, Penny started to relax and show her true personality. Sarah speculated that Penny may have been a street cat all her life, but now she was learning to trust that Sarah was there to care for her and her kittens.

As time passed, Penny became more comfortable with Sarah and even began to enjoy cuddle sessions. With Sarah’s loving care, Penny and her kittens would never have to experience fear or hunger again.

Sarah Lazar shared with Love Meow that she recently gave Mama Penny a break from her kittens by letting her relax in a different room. As soon as she sat Penny on her lap, the loving mother cat instantly snuggled up close, showing how happy and content she was. Despite adoring all her babies, Penny has a special bond with Lulu, her energetic and fiesty mini-me who has a never-ending appetite.

“Fortunately, a fantastic family has decided to bring home both of them after falling in love with the adorable pair! We couldn’t be more thrilled that the mother and daughter kitties will stay together in their new forever home.”

Sarah Lazar described Beau, the orange and white kitten, as a charming and affectionate little fellow who stands out as the sole male among the group.

Sarah Lazar shared that Little Nikko, the tuxedo kitten, is in the process of learning how to playfully wrestle with her siblings. She is particularly enamored with the variety of toys they have to entertain themselves with. Whoever adopts these little bundles of joy will undoubtedly be very fortunate.
