A feline mother, along with her litter of newborn kittens, was discovered outdoors along with a heartfelt note. She is overflowing with gratitude for the assistance she has received.
Last month, Kayla, who works at an apartment leasing office in Corpus Christi, Texas, was alerted about a cat that had been left outside an apartment complex. Intrigued by the unusual situation, she rushed to the scene to investigate. To her surprise, she discovered a cat lying in a bed, covered with a towel, and a note taped to the wall above her. Upon lifting the towel, Kayla found three adorable newborn kittens nestled underneath the cat. Lindsay Haglund, a Coastal Bend Cat Rescue board member, shared this heartwarming story with Love Meow.
The pregnant tabby was discovered on a cat bed outside a condo building, begging for assistance as she went into labor. Kayla and her colleague quickly came to their aid, bringing them inside to safety. Lindsay recalled, “They cleaned her up and assisted with the last kitten’s delivery.”
She was discovered with her brand-new kittens and a note posted on the wall above her from Coastal Bend Cat Rescue. Kayla and her mother Buffy, both volunteers for the rescue organization, stepped in to help provide a secure environment for the cat and her litter of four. After reaching out for assistance, the rescue team quickly agreed to take in the mama cat and worked together to create a plan for fostering the whole kitty family.
Secure in a temporary shelter at Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, Kayla provided a safe haven for a group of kitties in her cozy apartment before handing them over to Buffy for fostering. The affectionate tabby cat, now known as Bonbon, and her adorable kittens – Reeses, Hershey, Dove, and Butterfinger – were named after popular sweet treats.
Coastal Bend Cat Rescue shared the heartwarming story of Bonbon, a mother cat who found a safe haven to nurse and raise her kittens. Lindsay, one of the rescuers, described how Bonbon immediately adapted to foster care, showing gratitude for a warm and secure environment for her little ones. With Buffy’s help, each kitten flourished under their care, while Bonbon received all the love and attention she deserved.
Coastal Bend Cat Rescue shared that the mother cat, Bonbon, has developed a fondness for canned food and craves attention from humans. The organization also mentioned how Bonbon’s kittens are now three weeks old and growing rapidly, commending her for being a fantastic mother to her litter.
Bonbon is an exceptional mother to her little ones at Coastal Bend Cat Rescue. She gives them all of her love and care, even when they require a lot of attention. Despite the challenges she faced, Bonbon remains happy and affectionate towards her caregivers.
Lindsay expressed gratitude towards the dedicated volunteers who acted quickly to save Bonbon and her kittens, ensuring they would never have to suffer again.
They are doing well in their foster care at Coastal Bend Cat Rescue. When the kittens reach a certain size, they will be available for adoption at local shelters. “Bonbon and her kittens will all be spayed or neutered before finding their forever homes, which is crucial for preventing more kittens from being born on the streets.”
Coastal Bend Cat Rescue is a place where teamwork is key, and this tight-knit family of five is doing exceptionally well in their temporary home. Momma Bonbon is overjoyed to have her furry babies by her side, and she’s grateful for the support of her human companions during this special time.
