A grateful cat, along with her newborn kittens, was discovered outside with a note, expressing appreciation for the assistance provided.
Bonbon the feline and her litter of kittens were discovered by Kayla, who works at a Corpus Christi apartment leasing office, after receiving a report about an abandoned cat at an apartment complex. When Kayla arrived at the scene, she was surprised to find the cat lying in a makeshift bed next to the mailbox unit. Lindsay Haglund, a Coastal Bend Cat Rescue board member, stated that the cat was covered with a towel and a sign was taped above her. Upon lifting the towel, Kayla found three small newborn kittens nestled with their mother.
They discovered a pregnant cat resting in a cat bed outside a residential building, desperately seeking assistance. The kind souls at Coastal Bend Cat Rescue quickly sprang into action, bringing the expecting mother and her newborn kittens into safety. Lindsay from the rescue organization recounted the heartwarming moment when they cleaned her up and assisted in the delivery of her final kitten.
A mama cat was discovered with her four newborn kittens, along with a sign from Coastal Bend Cat Rescue pinned to the wall. Kayla and her mother Buffy, who volunteer for the organization, stepped in to help provide a safe environment for the cat and her litter. After reaching out for assistance, the rescue team gladly agreed to take in the mama cat and her kittens, and together they devised a plan to foster the feline family.
The precious cat family found safety and comfort in a foster home through Coastal Bend Cat Rescue. Initially taken in by Kayla in her apartment, the entire clan was later welcomed by Buffy for temporary care until they found their forever homes. The mother cat, a sweet tabby, was named Bonbon, while her adorable kittens were lovingly named after popular candy brands – Reeses, Hershey, Dove, and Butterfinger.
At Coastal Bend Cat Rescue, Lindsay shared a heartwarming story about Bonbon, a caring cat who embraced foster care to provide a safe haven for her tiny and delicate kittens. Buffy, another compassionate soul at the rescue, made sure that each kitten thrived under her watchful eye, while Bonbon received all the love and attention she deserved.

“Bonbon’s kittens are now three weeks old and maturing rapidly! She has been an exceptional mother to her little ones.”
Bonbon is an exceptional mother to her litter of kittens at Coastal Bend Cat Rescue. She gives them all the love and care they need, even in the face of challenging circumstances. Despite the stress, Bonbon remains affectionate and cuddly with her caretakers.
Lindsay expressed gratitude towards the compassionate volunteers who sprung into action to save Bonbon and her little ones, ensuring she would never have to endure any discomfort again.
The kittens are doing well in foster care with Coastal Bend Cat Rescue. Once they reach a certain size, they will be available for adoption through local shelters that the organization partners with. Before finding their forever homes, Bonbon and her kittens will all be spayed and neutered, a crucial step in preventing more kittens from being born outdoors on the streets.
Coastal Bend Feline Rescue is a community effort where a small family of five is flourishing under the care of foster parents. Momma Bonbon is overjoyed to be raising her kittens with the assistance of her human companions.
