A lonely kitten was discovered on its own, but a kind-hearted cat adopted it and welcomed it into her own family.
Flavian the little kitten found comfort in cuddling with Eleni, his mother cat, at the rescue shelter called Best Friends Felines. When they arrived a few weeks ago, Eleni was fearful of people, but with love and care, she quickly transformed into a purring ball of affection. Nikki, a member of the team at Best Friends Felines, shared that Eleni has become more trusting and allows her carers to help with her four kittens. With just a gentle pat, Eleni starts purring, showing her newfound trust in the caring hands that look after her and her precious little ones.
Eleni has her own litter of four kittens, and she is a part of the Best Friends Felines rescue group. At the same time, a tiny 4-week-old kitten named Flavian was brought to the rescue and was in need of some motherly care.
According to Nikki from Love Meow, Flavian was discovered alone and underweight, and was taken to a vet clinic for help. When the call went out for someone to foster him, the rescue team decided to introduce him to Eleni in the hopes that she would be willing to be his surrogate mother and provide him with the love and care he desperately needed.
When Flavian visited the clinic, he was greeted by Eleni from Best Friends Felines. Upon their first meeting, Eleni took a liking to Flavian right away. She sniffed and licked him gently, accepting him as her new friend. Nikki, a volunteer at the clinic, noted that Eleni started grooming Flavian as soon as they met, forming a bond instantly.
Snuggling up with his stand-in cat mom
Close Companions Felines
Before long, Flavian became a cherished member of the household. He naturally bonded with his surrogate mother, embracing her while they dozed off, and trailing behind her every move.
Kind-hearted Eleni appeared to understand exactly what the kitten required and showered him with affection. “Eleni showered him with attention when he first came, even more so than her own young ones, to make up for lost time with plenty of grooming and cuddles.”
Close-Knit Cat Crew
The quartet of siblings bonded effortlessly with their new addition, engaging in playful pursuits like chasing and wrestling as a cohesive group.
“He has seamlessly integrated into the group, joining in their activities and cuddling with Eleni, who reciprocates by grooming him. He’s happily eating on his own and has outgrown the need for nursing. While Eleni’s other sons nurse, Flavian prefers to play and then snuggle with his mother.”
Flavian happily interacts with his mother while his siblings are busy nursing, taking on the role of big brother to his litter of kittens at Best Friends Felines. Setting an example for his younger siblings, Flavian was the first to demonstrate his litter box abilities, paving the way for the others to follow suit and give it a try.
Thanks to the dedicated care and love shown to them, the kittens have quickly learned how to eat independently and are now eagerly devouring their food like little champions. With each passing day, they are gaining weight and growing stronger, thriving under the nurturing environment they have at the shelter.
Flavian along with his siblings Ambrose, Bastian, Costas, and Dorian are known as the Best Friends Felines. According to Nikki, who spoke with Love Meow, these five little ones love to run around the room and playfully pounce on their mama Eleni’s tail. They can often be found cuddling up with people or each other, creating a cozy kitten puddle around Eleni.
