Embracing Unwanted Love: An Unbreakable Bond Between a Woman and a Kitten

Woman Hugs a Kitten No One Wanted, the Kitty Won't Let Her Go...

Introducing Lola, the adorable kitten who found her forever home with a kind-hearted woman who couldn’t resist giving her a loving hug. This little calico immediately bonded with her new owner and refused to leave her side.

The day after Mother’s Day, Carla Reilly Moore, co-founder of Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary in Kingston, Ontario, set out on a rescue mission for two little chickens. However, things didn’t go exactly according to plan.

Carla had gone to pick up two three-week-old chickens in urgent need of placement, but first had to stop at the local feed store to get the right feed for them. In the store, she noticed a special cage used to house chicks and ducklings for sale. On this particular day, there was something different inside.

Upon entering the store, Carla spotted a tiny calico kitten crying in the cage. The kitten ran to the front, desperately seeking her attention.

Carla never intended to add more cats to her family, as she and her husband had already saved and adopted six furry companions.
“(The kitten) looked so helpless that I couldn’t help but pick her up to provide some comfort. I held her in my arms, and she instantly clung to me with all four paws,” Carla shared with Love Meow.

At Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary, Carla shared a memorable moment about a persistent kitty who refused to go back into her cage. Despite multiple attempts by Carla and her helper, the kitty had firmly decided to choose Carla as her new companion. With determination, the kitty made her way up to Carla’s neck and nestled into her hair, making it clear that she had found her forever home.

“She really wanted to be near me, so she clawed her way back up my shirt and settled comfortably on the back of my neck,” shared Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary.

“It was one of those situations that just happened. I knew I shouldn’t bring home another animal without consulting my husband, the other half of Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary. So, I sent him a few videos of what was going on,” explained Carla.

Her husband didn’t respond immediately, but Carla couldn’t bear to leave the kitten behind. The calico feline was clinging to her as if her life depended on it.

“In most cases, barn cats are not spayed or neutered, and many people prefer not to have females to avoid dealing with kittens. Unfortunately, the fate of most female cats is uncertain and often not favorable,” Carla revealed to Love Meow.

Exiting the store with the kitten still attached to her, Carla decided to name her Lola, also known as Treasure. The drive back home with the affectionate little kitty proved to be quite a challenge.

At Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary, Carla shared a heartwarming story about a kitten named Lola who quickly became her constant companion. According to Carla, Lola was determined to be close to her at all times, often perching on her shoulder or snuggling into the back of her neck. Carla found herself unable to go about her daily tasks without Lola by her side, so she ended up carrying the kitten in a front baby carrier to keep her close and reassured. Lola’s need for closeness and comfort touched Carla’s heart, creating a special bond between them at the sanctuary.

At Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary, a tiny calico kitten was feeling very scared and kept meowing non-stop. The caretaker noticed a strange breathing noise coming from the kitten’s ear, prompting them to schedule a visit to the vet. It was revealed that the precious little one had a lung infection, but with proper treatment of antibiotics, she is on the road to a complete recovery.

Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary is thrilled to share that Lola, after receiving two days of constant affection and care, has finally relaxed and shown her true colors. According to Carla from the sanctuary, Lola has now fully settled in and is thriving. She is not only bright and active but also incredibly curious and playful. Lola even enjoys playing with the other six cats at the sanctuary and has formed a special bond with their rescue bunnies.

At Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary, the highlight of her day is snuggling up with her rescuer, who is now her forever human mom, during nap time.
