A person cleaning out an empty house stumbled upon a surprise in the basement – a mama cat with her four little kittens nestled in a cozy laundry basket.
Goldie, the mama cat, and her four adorable kittens were discovered by a compassionate individual cleaning out a vacant home. Lori White, a dedicated volunteer at the Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO), was contacted to help rescue the feline family. The house was empty, and the poor cats had no food or water in sight. It’s heartbreaking to think about how long they may have been left there, locked inside with no way out. Lori shared the story with Love Meow, hoping to raise awareness about the importance of responsible pet ownership.
Discovered in the basement of an empty house, a momma cat and her four kittens were rescued by a kind soul named Lori White. Recognizing the need for assistance, Lori wasted no time in taking them home to provide nourishment for the hungry feline family. The tabby momma, although thin and starved, eagerly devoured the food given to her and gratefully settled into her new, clean nest to care for her precious kittens.
Goldie is a fantastic mother to her energetic litter of kittens, who are thriving under her attentive care. After finding them and reaching out to a local shelter, ARPO came to their rescue and took them in. Lori White, the finder, expressed gratitude for Goldie’s dedication to ensuring her kittens’ safety and well-being.

When the tabby cat first entered the room, she immediately showed her friendly nature. After a quick look around, she signaled to her kittens that it was snack time. Before long, the room was echoing with a chorus of purrs and tiny suckling noises. Check out the adorable video of this loving feline family in action!

Lori was taken aback when she found out that all four kittens were orange tabby females, prompting her to give them the names Rose, Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche, and Goldie (the mother) in homage to the popular TV show Golden Girls.
“It’s quite uncommon for a ginger cat to be female (around 20%), so having four ginger female kittens is really unique! I just had to go with the Golden Girls theme – Momma Goldie Girl and her Golden Girls.”

Even though Mama Goldie doesn’t have a microchip and hasn’t been claimed, her family of five is doing well and will always have enough to eat.
The quadruplets are full of energy and are always getting into mischief. Dorothy is particularly fond of cuddles and is quick to seek them out from her human companions.

At five weeks old, the kittens are eager to nurse from their mother whenever possible. “Goldie makes sure they’re always clean, and they all have adorable round bellies.”
The loving mother is grateful for her cozy home and the caring individuals helping look after her precious litter of four.
