A kitten with a “Dalmatian” patterned coat and her sibling faced challenges head-on and rose above them after being given another opportunity.
Meet Spice! This adorable kitten, along with her sister Pumpkin, entered an animal shelter in a sad state – with cloudy eyes and respiratory issues. Despite their troubles, they found solace in each other’s company. Pumpkin, with her calico fur, was fragile, leaning on Spice for support, who sported Dalmatian-like markings on her chest and legs. In dire need of a foster home and constant care, Thoa Bui, a compassionate individual and cofounder of Mini Cat Town, stepped in without a second thought, offering a safe haven for these two sweet feline sisters.

“We were faced with cats suffering from severe eye infections, and the situation was grim,” Thoa revealed to Love Meow.
However, Thoa and her team were determined to take on the challenge of helping the cats regain their health. “In Pumpkin’s initial days with us, we were filled with hope that she would pull through, despite her initial frailty.”
Pumpkin initially faced some challenges, but with the dedicated care she received at Mini Cat Town, she began to show improvement. Spice, her loyal companion, stayed by her side, offering support as they both embarked on a journey towards recovery.
Thanks to the loving environment of their foster home, Spice also made significant progress in just a short amount of time. Her eye started to clear up, and she became more energetic with each passing day.
Spice showed signs of progress while in foster care at Mini Cat Town. Pumpkin’s spirits were lifted as she started to recover – her eyes started to show less swelling, and she even started to fill out and become more fluffy.
Thoa from Love Meow shared, “After about a week of receiving treatment for their eyes, both Spice and Pumpkin started to feel better. We knew they were on the mend when we saw them happily eating and playing with each other on their own.”
After receiving treatment, Pumpkin’s left eye remained cloudy for a while, but her right eye cleared up completely. The transformation in the cats at Mini Cat Town from being sick and lethargic to energetic and playful is truly remarkable. Despite the tough eye treatment they had to endure, their perseverance is truly admirable.
Pumpkin’s left eye seemed beyond saving, but to everyone’s surprise, it began to improve. Almost overnight, the cloudiness that plagued it nearly vanished.
During their healing process, the bonded feline sisters remained by each other’s side constantly. They cherished every moment spent together, seldom straying from one another.
