Ginger tabby cats are adored by many people worldwide, including Bazooka, who stands out for his impressive size! When Bazooka was brought to the Wake SPCA in North Carolina, it took two drivers to transport him because he weighed a whopping 35lbs. Despite his weight, Bazooka remained cheerful and positive throughout the journey!
A sprightly five-year-old cat made a grand entrance at the Wake County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and is now the center of attention on the web. This adorable feline traveled all the way from Davidson County – a journey that lasted about two hours. The moment the SPCA staff laid eyes on him, they immediately fell in love. As Darci Vanderslik, the organization’s spokesperson puts it, “They gave us a heads up about Bazooka and as soon as we saw him, we knew he was the one.”
After his previous owner, who suffered from dementia, passed away, Bazooka was brought to a shelter for cats. It seems that his previous owner had unintentionally overfed him on a regular basis. Fortunately, Bazooka’s foster family has put him on a new diet and weight loss plan, which has improved his physical health. Additionally, the cat is emotionally healing from the loss of his previous owner. It is essential to approach this situation with empathy and understanding for both the cat and his deceased owner. Bazooka’s current caretakers hope to reduce his weight by 20 to 25 pounds, as his current weight of 35 pounds is quite heavy for a feline. However, they are taking things slowly to avoid any harm to Bazooka. Despite his size, Bazooka, a ginger tabby, has been cooperative with his new diet plan, showing his calm and relaxed demeanor, which is typical of his breed. Contrary to his name’s implication, Bazooka is a gentle cat. Check out ABC30 Action News’ video on Bazooka here.
This big cat has a promising future ahead as he is set to be adopted soon, bringing an end to his past struggles. It’s important to keep in mind that there are many other cats in need of loving homes too. As much as we love this charming cat, we hope to see him less frequently in the future. With time, he will shed some weight and experience better health.
