Meet Potato, the most adorable and charming cat without ears that you’ll ever have the pleasure of seeing. This lovable feline was once a stray cat in China before being rescued by a local animal shelter. Unfortunately, when Potato was found, he was suffering from a medical condition called ceruminous adenoma in his ear canals and flaps. Although he received treatment to remove the adenoma, it eventually returned, so the veterinarians recommended that his ear flaps and canals be removed to prevent the disease from recurring.
Luckily, Potato is now recovering well and has found his forever home with his new best friend Horlick. Even better, his owners have discovered that Potato can still hear despite missing his ear flaps and canals. While no one knows for sure when Potato was born or how old he is, his owners estimate that he’s about six years old. They adopted him on April 25, 2019, and have since celebrated this day as Potato’s birthday.
