Lucy, a tiny kitten, found her way to The Odd Cat Sanctuary in Salem, Massachusetts in search of a fresh start. Just eight weeks old and weighing less than a pound, she had a bold and adventurous spirit that captured the hearts of everyone she met.
Upon her arrival, Lucy immediately made her presence known with her loud meows and confident demeanor. Tara Kay, the sanctuary’s founder, fondly recalls the first time she met Lucy. “She was crying out to be picked up, purring incessantly,” Tara shared with Love Meow.
Right from the start, Lucy made it clear that she was a fan of hugs and cuddles. She was never one to shy away from affection and would insist on being carried around, often demanding attention with her loud cries. “She loved being held and her tummy rubbed,” Tara added.
It was clear that Lucy had a unique personality that set her apart from the rest, making her a special addition to The Odd Cat Sanctuary family.
The Odd Cat Sanctuary
Despite her unique condition of twisted legs, she was always on the move, eager to explore and have fun. However, what she longed for the most was the company of others and lots of snuggles.
Not long after, another special needs kitten joined the diverse family at the sanctuary. Millie, who was discovered as a stray at just six weeks old, had deformed back legs. One leg was longer than the other, and the other limb had no foot at all.
The Unusual Feline Haven
Once plucked from the shelter, she nestled comfortably in the arms of her savior, purring contentedly. The sanctuary brought her face to face with Lucy, who was excited to find a cuddle companion.
Their bond was immediate as they embarked on playful antics, dashing across the room before settling down together in a cozy bed for a snooze. It seemed as though they had always been companions.
