We have a special fondness for cats and it seems like we are always discovering new and surprising things about our feline companions. For example, did you know that there are cats out there who have a strange love for bananas? Bean the cat is one such feline who absolutely adores bananas and enjoys licking them with great enthusiasm. His owner couldn’t help but capture this adorable behavior and share it online for everyone to see. We had a chat with Bean’s owner to learn more about his banana obsession, how she rescued him as a tiny kitten, and all about his ‘brothers’ Pirate, Ninja, and Raptor.
According to Bean’s owner, his love for bananas started when he was around 9 months old. He only gets to enjoy a banana treat occasionally, maybe a couple of times a month or even less. Even though his vet is aware of this unique preference, Bean’s owner mentioned that bananas should not be a regular part of his diet as they could be unhealthy for cats. Despite this, Bean’s owner is delighted to see how much joy these banana-licking sessions bring to her furry friend.
To see more of Bean’s adorable banana adventures, check out his Instagram and Facebook pages. There’s no doubt that this quirky cat has found a sweet and amusing way to express his love for this tropical fruit.

We were interested in discovering Bean’s preferences apart from bananas. According to his owner, Bean also enjoys snacking on Noosa Yogurt (in moderation, of course) and loves scrambled eggs and cheese. However, Bean’s culinary delights don’t stop there.
“He also has a fondness for veggies, particularly Brussels sprouts leaves and lettuce. He’s quite the diverse eater. However, his main diet consists of wet food twice a day,” shared the affectionate owner of the banana-loving cat.

“He enjoys trailing behind me at home, like my little sidekick. On snowy days, he gets excited to venture outside for some monitored fun. If I ask him ‘do you wanna be a snow bean?’ he’ll eagerly wait by the door, just like in my rendition of ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’ from Frozen.”

Believe it or not, Bean has been a bit of a sensation on the internet for a while. But things took a turn for the worse when his owner encountered some hackers, resulting in Bean losing his 3,000 followers. Despite this setback, they didn’t give up and began a new journey, amassing over 11,300 followers on Instagram.

The owner shared that she enjoys capturing her beloved cat, Bean, in photos because he has such a vibrant personality that she knew others would appreciate. She playfully referred to herself as a “cat lady” due to also caring for Bean’s feline siblings.

Bean was a tiny little feline who was not wanted when his human rescued him. Let me share with you the heartwarming story behind this adorable kitty. “Bean was abandoned by his mother as a newborn. On the evening of April 6, 2018, I came across a post about a small white kitten that was in need of assistance.”
“It was a damp, dark, and cold evening, and they had been searching for his mother for over three hours with no luck. He was right in the middle of their yard. Since they lived close by, I decided to pick him up within minutes,” Bean’s owner shared with Bored Panda. “He was the first kitten I had to bottle-feed, and I’ve been fostering and rescuing cats and kittens for many years.”

Credited to Cat Named Bean, the author shared her story, explaining how her sole focus was on her kitten while her husband was deployed and her kids were in school. She initially planned on finding the kitten a new home but ended up keeping him as he grew and became part of the family when her husband returned from deployment. They ended up purchasing a home, and she couldn’t imagine parting with him.

Bean’s owner mentioned that since they first met, Bean has been following her around like a loyal companion. In their forever home, Bean has made friends with Pirate, Ninja, and Raptor, the other cats he lives with.
“Pirate, the eldest, was rescued in Germany when he was very ill with a cancerous eye. He will be turning 10 this summer and has been healthy ever since his eye was removed. Ninja, the second oldest, was also adopted in Germany when he was just a young feral kitten. He is one year younger than Pirate and recently turned 8 last fall.”
“And then there’s Raptor, who we adopted in Utah when he was just a baby. We found him at a local shelter in Petsmart, where he immediately showed his preference for me by ignoring other potential adopters. Everyone always laughs at his unique ‘lips’,” the owner shared.
