Recently, a feline that had been the head honcho in an office for quite some time found himself unemployed and on the lookout for a peaceful retirement sanctuary.
The tale of Bambino, an 11-year-old feline, began when he arrived at Purrfect Pals, a rescue organization in Arlington, Washington, in search of a forever home. Previously, Bambino had been surrendered to a local shelter as his former owners moved and couldn’t take him with them.
Fortunately, Bambino’s luck changed when a local company in Renton, Washington adopted him as their office cat. Quickly becoming the office manager, Bambino won over the hearts of everyone he encountered, relishing in the attention he received.
Embracing his role, Bambino eagerly greeted customers, oversaw the staff, and provided therapeutic kitty cuddles for all. His dedication and charm even earned him a promotion to Senior Vice President of Public Relations.
Perfect partners
Regrettably, his workplace closed its doors recently. The organization got in touch with Perfect Partners in the hopes that they could assist in finding him the ideal place to spend his retirement.
Bambino has experienced some loss of vision over time. Despite being fully blind now, he continues to exude confidence, friendliness, a love for people, and a fondness for cuddles. He delights in giving kisses and is truly a lovable companion.
Ready to find a new lap to cozy up on, a long-haired gray cat at Purrfect Pals was longing for some snuggle time with a new human companion. The shelter described him as a happy feline who enjoys lounging on laps, couches, and chairs whenever people are nearby.
In early October, a couple visited Purrfect Pals in search of a new feline friend to fill the void left by their recently departed senior cat. Their older dog, who is blind and mostly deaf, also seemed to miss having a kitty companion around for company.
Bambino quickly settled into his new home with the couple, who had learned a great deal from assisting him. The house was designed to provide plenty of open spaces, complete with carpet runners and sensory objects to aid Bambino in navigating his surroundings. They even had a screened patio where he could bask in the sun and listen to the birds safely outdoors.
Perfect Companions
After arriving at his new home, he wasted no time in exploring every nook and cranny. Within a couple of hours, he had familiarized himself with the layout and staked his claim on a few favorite spots. According to his new family, he now navigates the house with ease.
Bambino even made friends with Guinness, their canine companion. Their introduction was marked by a playful exchange of nose kisses. “He’s even more agile around the house than our dog who is blind and deaf. Bambino relies on his keen sense of hearing, whiskers, and sense of smell. He can detect the rustle of a grocery bag from afar and comes bounding over.”
Ideal Companions
“Bambino easily adapted to using the litter box and quickly learned the sound of the pump in the filtered water bowl.
“He enjoys snuggling in bed with us and has shown a knack for grooming. I once woke up to find him on my pillow, playfully licking my hair as if I were one of his own. He’s quite affectionate.”
Having spent many years as the office mascot, this lovable feline is now happily settled into retirement in his forever home.
